Flyers rally late to beat Defenders, 4-3

The St. Joseph Flyers like to work fast.

Down 3-2 with four minutes to play, the Flyer scored twice within 30 seconds and rallied to beat the Ohio Valley Christian Defenders 4-3 Monday in a non-league soccer game.

Payton Blair and Chad Harvey split the Flyers scoring with two goals each. Joey Basedow, Levi Hopkins, Harvey, and Blair each had assists.

Goalie Joe “The Shoe” Unger had another strong effort with eight saves and George McCown turned in an excellent defensive performance.

The Flyers host Portsmouth Clay at 6 p.m. Thursday.
