The driver in a fatal two-car crash earlier this summer has been indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury.

Matthew Cecil, 40, of 132 Township Road 1504, South Point, was indicted on one count of aggravated vehicular homicide.

The crash occurred June 29 on Ohio 141, just north of Milepost 5 in Upper Township. Authorities said Cecil was driving eastbound on Ohio 141 when he drove left of center striking another vehicle driven by Kayla L. Hankins, 19, of Ironton, who was driving westbound. The Hankins car went off the left side of the road and overturned on its side in a ditch. Hankins was pronounced dead at the scene.
