PEDRO — She gets by with a little help from her friends.

For most of the season, Brooke Long has done the bulk of the scoring for Rock Hill. But she got some help Monday as the Redwomen beat the Greenup County (Ky.) Lady Musketeers 51-39.

Long scored 17 points, but Ashlee Thacker had a career-high 18 points and Brooke Skinner had 11.

“Defensively we played pretty well and we got some offense from other girls besides Brooke,” said Redwomen coach Matt Fulks.

“We had a good effort out of everyone. Ashlee Thacker stepped up Brooke Skinner continues to play well. Elisha Daniels did a good job. They’re all playing well. They’re starting to come together as a team.”

Thacker scored 10 points in the first quarter as Rock Hill opened up a 17-11 lead.

The lead was 27-20 at the half and Rock Hill extended the lead to 37-26.

“We did a better job of pressuring the ball and forcing them into mistakes,” said Fulks.

Skinner and Long scored six points each in the fourth quarter. The Redwomen were 10-of-16 from the foul line in the quarter — Long was 4-of-6 — to seal the win.
