PICKERINGTON — The day was short on finals but not success for a couple of Chesapeake Panthers track members.

The Panthers junior Aaron Allen and sophomore Peter Hintz both placed Wednesday during the first day of the Division III regional track meet.

A handful of field events and the 4×800-meter realy were the only finals on the first day of the meet that included preliminaries in the other running events. The remainder of the finals will be Friday.

Allen cleared 12-feet, 6-inches to place eighth in the pole vault.

Hintz leaped 19-feet, six- and three-quarter inches and finished sixth in the long jump.

The Division II regional track meet will be held Thursday and Saturday at Byesville Meadowbrook High School.
