Philip R. Carey, 53, of Houston, formerly of Ironton, Ohio, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, in Houston.
He was born Dec. 1, 1954, to Edwin R. and Ellen Margarite Riedel Carey. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and also served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church and a 1973 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
He is survived by three brothers and one sister, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Dan and Theresa Carey and Paul Carey of Ironton, Andrew and Linda Carey of Slippery Rock, Pa., and Mary Ellen and Duane McClellan of Ironton.
Graveside committal service will be 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery on Thursday with the Rev. David Huffman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.
