Earlean Clay, 86, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Mt. Olive, Miss., native was born July 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Warren and Elizabeth McLendon Warren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William M. Clay, who passed away April 13, 1981.
Mrs. Clay was a homemaker and a sales clerk for Artley’s Dress Shop in Ironton and a member of Woodland Chapel Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann Lynd; three sisters, Marjorie Runnels, Esma Miller, and Minnie Benton and four brothers, Felton Warren, Dewey Warren, Buford Warren, and Truitt Warren.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Jean and David Flowers, of Albany, Ky., and Joan and Jim Bradford, of Wellington, Ky.; a son-in-law, Garry Lynd, of Lawco Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, James Millard and Becky Clay, of Ashland, Ohio; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law, Garry Michael and Debbie Lynd, of Galloway, and William H. Clay of Ashland, Ohio; two granddaughters, Jada Hedrick, of Ashland, Ky., and Jamie Clay of Flatwoods, Ky.; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth Reinhardt, Jasmine Lynd, Adam Hedrick, and Ava Marie Clay; two brothers, Bobby Ray Warren and Alvin Warren; and four sisters, Thelma Evans, Alberta Mullins, Geneva Scott, and Verl Woods.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tom Mullins, Garry Michael Lynd, Adam Hedrick, Jim Bradford, William Clay, and Garry Lynd.
