Stumbo, Hacker earn All-SEOAL in XC meet

Even though one ran in the boys’ meet and one in the girls’ meet, the results were virtually the same.

Ironton sophomores Adam Stumbo and Taylor Hacker each placed 14th in the Southeastern Ohio Athletic League meet as they earned All-SEOAL honors.

Warren won the boys’ meet with just 26 points, Marietta had 29 points, and Logan was third with 98 points.

The Fighting Tigers were fourth overall as a team with 112 points. Zanesville was next with 128 points followed by Chillicothe with 161 points.

Gallipolis and Jackson had just four runners each and did not qualify for a team score.

Stumbo led Ironton with a 19:21.4 time as he placed 14th overall. Just two spots behind was sophomore teammate Gary Monroe with a 19:29 time.

Freshman Levi Runyon had a 20:10 clocking to finish 20th, sophomore Dustin Moritz was No. 40 with a 21:58.8 time, and senior Caleb Hammond finished at No. 45 with a 23:26.3 time.

Mark Wieferich of Marietta was the overall individual winner with a 17:06.4 time over the 5K course.

Hacker had a 23:06.1 clocking as she registered her 14th-place finish. Ironton did not have a team score.

Gallipolis won the girls’ meet with 25 points. Marietta was second with 53 points, Warren had 90, Logan 94, Jackson 110, and Chillicothe 139.

Zanesville had only three runs and did not register a team total.

Peyton Adkins of Gallipolis had the best time among the girls with a 20:04.5 time.
