Dovie Roth, 87, of Pedro died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at a local health care center.
The Carter County, Ky., native was born March 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Virgil and Effie Carroll Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Roth, who died Oct. 10, 2001.
She attended Carter County Schools, was of the Protestant faith and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Binion.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Schmuch, of Westwood, Ky.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Allen and Ada Roth, of Pedro, and Keith “Beef” Roth, of Kitts Hill; seven grandchildren; a brother, Wendell Cox, of Pedro; and a sister, Faye Click, of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Major Cox and John Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery.
