Barbara Ann Chapman Pennington, 80, of Ironton, died Thursday, Nov.20, 2008, at a local health care center.
The Ironton native was born May 21, 1928, the daughter of the late Everett L. and Mina Hall Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Everett Pennington, on July 22, 1996.
She was a 1946 graduate of Ironton High School. She was the owner/manager of the Now -N- Then Variety Shop and attended the First Church of the Nazarene of Ironton and Hanging Rock.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Pemberton; and two brothers, James H. Chapman and Everett Chapman, Jr.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Jay Reilly, of Florida and Kentucky; a son, Kenneth E. Pennington, of Ironton; a brother, Paul L. Chapman, of Virginia; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Dillow officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
