The big three helped the Green Lady Bobcats get a big one.

Green’s trio of Ashlee Runyon, Adrianne Blankenship and Lauren Jones combined for 48 points to lead the Lady Bobcats to a 55-51 win over the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“Runyon got us off to a good start, and Jones picked it up in the second quarter. Blankenship was consistent all the way through,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Runyon scored eight points in the first quarter including a pair of trifectas as Green stayed even with East at 14-14.

Jones scored 11 of her 15 points in the second quarter and the Lady Bobcats pulled away to a 34-25 lead at the break.

Blankenship had 11 of her points in the second half including a free throw with 30 seconds to play that helped seal the win after East cut a 10-point deficit to just three.

“We held on and kept our composure and got out of there with a win,” said Royse.

Blankenship finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and eight steals as Green improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the SOC.

Runyon scored 16points including three 3-pointers and Jones had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Megan Williams scored 17 points — 15 on 3-point goals — to pace East, 0-2 overall and in the SOC.
