Proctorville man charged with sex crimes

Drugs and burglary were among the complaints heard last week in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

David Barbour, 25, of 100 Front St., Proctorville, was arraigned on two counts of gross sexual imposition. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, David Reid Dillon. Judge Charles Cooper allowed bond set in a lower court to continue and scheduled a Jan. 7 pretrial conference.

Danny Joe Martin, 53, of 56 Township Road 1101, South Point, was arraigned on one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Chris Delawder. Cooper allowed a bond posted in a lower court to continue and set a Dec. 31 pretrial conference.

Jeffrey S. Ingram, 25, of 162 Private Drive 589, South Point, was arraigned on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs. He pleaded not guilty through Dillon, who is also his attorney. Judge D Scott Bowling allowed bond posted in a lower court to continue and set a Dec. 31 pretrial conference.

Tyler Layne, 24, whose last address was 2436 S. Fifth St., Ironton, was arraigned on four counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Chris Delawder.

Assistant Lawrence County Prosecutor Mack Anderson asked for $40,000 cash bond, noting that, “The defendant is in the penitentiary for some other crimes and had to be transported here.” But Delawder countered that these charges stem from incidents that happened in February, March and April and he did not understand why the prosecutor’s office did not seek indictments against him sooner. Delawder had planned to ask Bowling for judicial release from prison for Layne on the previous charges but discussion on that request was delayed a week. Bowling set bond at $40,000 cash on the new charges and set a Dec. 24 pretrial conference.

Thomas Johnson, 36, of 503 Third St. East, was arraigned one count each of receivingstolen property and burglary. He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity through his attorney, Michael Gleichauf. Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or $100,000 property and scheduled a Dec. 31 pretrial conference.

Jeremy Duncan, 31, of 7706 State Route 243, South Point, was arraigned on one count of endangering children. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Chris Delawder. Cooper allowed bond set in a lower court to continue and scheduled a Dec. 17 pretrial conference.

Jessie J. Wiley, 23, of Worthington, Ky., was arraigned on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drugs and theft. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Michael Gleichauf. Bowling allowed bond posted in a lower court to continue and scheduled a Dec. 31 pretrial conference.

Jamie M. Brown, 30, of 2004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, was arraigned on one count of theft of drugs. She pleaded not guilty through attorney Randy Lambert, who was substituting for D.L. McWhorter. She was released on a $10,000 own recognizance bond and told to returned Dec. 31 for a pretrial conference.

Bryan K. Anderson, 26, of Ashland, Ky., was arraigned on one count of opening burning/ open dumping. He also pleaded not guilty through attorney Lambert, who noted that because Anderson does not read or write, he explained Anderson’s legal rights and court procedures to him verbally. Bowling set a $10,000 OR bond and scheduled a Dec. 31 pretrial conference.

JamieAnn D. Jackson, 19, of 217 Township Road 219, South Point, was arraigned on one count of burglary. She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Philip Heald. Bowling allowed bond posted in a lower court to continue and scheduled a Dec. 31 pretrial conference.

Eric Petersen, 42, of 309 Elizabeth St., Proctorville, was arraigned on two counts of gross sexual imposition. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, David Reid Dillon. Cooper allowed a bond set in lower court to continue and ordered Petersen to return to court Dec. 31 for a pretrial conference.
