Female Flyers roll past Lady Defenders

The St. Joseph Female Flyers got in control and never loosened their grip.

The Female Flyers led the entire game as they posted a 48-28 win over the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders Friday.

St. Joseph jumped out to a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Female Flyers went on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter en route to a 21-10 halftime lead.

St. Joseph (3-4) outscored OVC 15-8 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 36-18 and coasted the rest of the way.

Katie Hacker led the Female Flyers with 19 points and 20 rebounds while Michelle Staton scored 10 with 14 rebounds.

Andrea VanMeter scored 14 points to pace the Lady Defenders (1-6).

OVC’s second-leading scorer Lindsey Miller was injured in the first quarter and did not return.
