When you’re hot, you’re hot.

The Sciotoville East finally got hot in the fourth quarter and rallied past the St. Joseph Flyers 83-77 Saturday.

East was 7 of 11 from the field and 12 of 17 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.

The Tartans hot shooting spoiled an outstanding performance by the Flyers Chad Harvey who scored 35 points including 19 in the second half to lead the Flyers.

Payton Blair added 11 points for St. Joseph and Caleb Blackburn had nine points and nine rebounds.

Harvey hit a trifecta to put the Flyers up 7-2 early and Blair drained a triple with a minute left in the quarter as the Flyers took an 18-12 lead.

Blair made a runner midway through the second quarter to put the lead at 27-22, and then Joe “The Shoe” Unger came off the bench to score four straight points as the Flyers opened up a 35-26 lead en route to a 39-30 halftime lead.

Tanner Riley had a layup with 3:17 left to make it 51-42 lead and Harvey’s basket with 51 seconds on the clock had the Flyers’ lead at 57-52.

Riley’s driving layup with 5:28 to play gave St. Joseph a 66-57 lead, but then East got hot.

With 4:24 to go, East went on a 15-4 run capped by Jordan Garrett’s 3-pointer with 2:54 left that East the lead at 72-70.

Harvey answered with a 10-footer to tie the game only to have a foul called inside that put the Tartans’ Nathan Hood at the line.

Hood hit the first shot, missed the second but got the rebound and scored to give East the lead for good.

Zach Rawlins and Jon Garrett scored 18 points each for East (2-1). Jordan Garrett added 15.
