KITTS HILL — Bertha Short Lang, 96, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
Bertha was born Oct. 17, 1912, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Healy Robert and Stella Dennison Short.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Adam Lang; a daughter, Frances Lang Neal; two sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by a son, William “Bill” Lang, of Kitts Hill; her grandsons, Clarence (Pam) Lang, of Chesapeake, Butch Lang of Franklin, N.C., and Kenny Neal, of Kitts Hill; her great grandsons, Michael Lang, Robbie Lang and Lee Lang, all of Chesapeake, and William Lang of Hickory, N.C.; a brother, Chester (Alice) Short; a son-in-law, John Neal; her nieces and nephews, Helen (Duke) Kliber and Virgil (Sharon) Skaggs and many more nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Cooke officiating. Burial will follow at Perkins Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.
