Lady Hornets rally past South Gallia

The Coal Grove Lady Hornets saved their best for last.
Trailing after three quarters, the Lady Hornets rallied to beat the South Gallia Lady Rebels 45-41 Monday in a non-league game.
South Gallia (7-2) had taken a 10-8 lead after the first quarter only to have Coal Grove rally for a 19-18 halftime lead.
The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Hornets 13-9 in the third quarter to retake the lead at 31-28.
But Coal Grove (6-2) came back to score 17 points in the fourth quarter and hold South Gallia to 10.
Jordyn Cox had a game-high 21 points to lead Coal Grove. Taylor Sexton scored 12.
Jennifer Sheridan hit six 3-point goals to lead South Gallia with 18 points.
Coal Grove will return to action on Thursday with an Ohio Valley Conference game against the River Valley Lady Raiders.
The Lady Hornets are 2-0 in the conference.
