Fundraiser may be difference

In today’s economy, $5 doesn’t make it too far. But a local group has plans for a fundraiser where those few dollars could make all the difference in the world.

The Hanging Rock ATV Club has partnered with Rax Restaurant and the Friends of Ironton to host a pancake breakfast that is about far more than just a good meal.

Set for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Jan. 31 at Rax in Ironton, the event is designed as a fundraiser to benefit Mark Robinson, who was injured earlier this month when, authorities believe, he was inadvertently shot in the back by a neighbor.

Robinson is in Cabell Huntington Hospital and will require extensive surgery.

The outdoor enthusiast had a reputation of stepping up to help out the ATV club and the community with various events. It is only fitting that those same individuals return the favor.

Tickets are $5 in advance or at the door.

But there is also the opportunity to help out even if you don’t want to eat breakfast.

A fund has been set up to benefit Robinson. Donations can be made to:

Civic organizations are a vital part of southern Ohio and our entire community. And it is the people that selflessly donate their time and energy who truly make these groups go.

We applaud the Hanging Rock club, the Friends of Ironton and Rax Restaurant for seeing a need and taking action to help.

Nutritionists say a good breakfast is the key to your day. This breakfast may be the key to Robinson’s future.
