Rock Hill falls short in upset bid

For the Rock Hill Redwomen, three out of four ain’t bad. But, oh, that first one.

After falling behind 10-1 in the first quarter, the Rock Hill Redwomen outscored Wheelersburg over the next three quarters. However, it wasn’t enough as the fell 28-20 to the Lady Pirates.

“The last two games we’ve given ourselves an opportunity and as a coach that’s all you can ask for,” said Redwomen coach Matt Fulks.

Rock Hill (0-15) trailed 14-7 at the half and just 22-18 with three minutes to play.

Hannah Long scored eight points and Chelsea Harper six to lead Rock Hill.

Erica Schmidt had eight points and Corey Turner seven for Wheelersburg.

Rock Hill hosts River Valley on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
