The South Point Pointers were putting up points like the cash register at a store-wide clearance sale.
With four players reaching double figures, the Pointers knocked off the St. Joseph Flyers 87-54 Friday in a non-league game.
“We shot the ball really well and we scored a lot of points off of steals,” said Pointers’ coach Gary Norris.
Chase Kratzenberg led the offense with 24 points including four 3-pointers. Kevin Davis had 17 points with all but two coming on 3-pointers. Greg Taylor added 11 points and Drew Lynd 10.
Chad Harvey had 18 points and Payton Blair 12 for the Flyers (6-7).
South Point (7-4) held a 20-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Davis and Taylor scored eight points each in the second quarter as the Pointers outscored the Flyers 27-10 to take a 47-23 halftime lead.
Kratzenberg drained three treys in the third quarter as he scored 15 of the Pointers’ 23 points to build a 70-40 lead.
