Maybe the South Point Pointers need to learn how to give dirty looks.

The Pointers gave out good looks in the first quarter Saturday night and the Peebles Indians took advantage to post a 72-66 win.

Tyler Arnold scored all 12 of his points in the first quarter as Peebles took a 23-17 lead and the Pointers never recovered.

“We gave them a lot of good looks in the first quarter. After the first quarter, it stayed pretty much even,” said Pointers coach Gary Norris.

“They’ve got a good team. They shot them and they made them. They shot the ball very well. They’re big and strong and they run well.”

Peebles led 34-30 at the half and 50-44 at the end of the third quarter

Each team scored 22 points in the fourth quarter as Ethan Prater got nine for the Pointers and Blake Justice had nine for Peebles.

South Point (8-5) trailed by as many as 12 points but cut the deficit to four on three occasions with less than three minutes to play.

But the Pointers were forced to foul and the Indians converted 11-of-15 from the line to prevent any comeback.

“We had to put them on the line and they made their shots,” said Norris.

Prater finished with 16 points and Chase Kratzenberg also had 16 points including four 3-point goals. Drew Lynd scored 15 points.

Justice topped Peebles with 21 points, Andrew Seaman had 18 and Tyler Caudill scored 15.
