ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) – Police say a 4-year-old boy has died after being ejected from a vehicle when it overturned Friday morning along a snow-covered patch of Interstate 64 in eastern Kentucky.

State Police Detective Michael Murriell says authorities have not released the boy’s name.

Murriell said the boy’s stepfather and mother, 46-year-old Paul Westerman and 32-year-old Emily Westerman of Charleston, W.Va., encountered snow on the interstate near the 179 mile marker in Carter County. Emily Westerman lost control of the 1999 Ford F-150.
