Kris Tibbs may not think of himself as a one-man team, but try convincing the Green Bobcats.

Tibbs scored a career-high 42 points Saturday as the Symmes Valley Vikings beat the Bobcats 64-53 in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Tibbs was 12-of-17 from 2-point range and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc while making 9-of-13 from the line in amassing his total.

“Tibbs isn’t a selfish player. He’s more than happy to pass the ball around. He takes everything in stide. But he was shooting the ball well and we did a good job getting him the ball,” said Vikings’ coach Alvin Carpenter.

“And Tibbs doesn’t just get points from taking the first shot, he does a good job rebounding and putting the ball back in.”

Tibbs came out with 14 points in the first quarter as the Vikings took a 17-10 lead.

Tibbs came back to scored 12 points in the second quarter and offset a pair of 3-pointers by Green’s Patrick Pierce and the lead grew to 35-25 at the half.

In the third quarter, Tibbs scored 14 more points and the lead ballooned to 52-33 at the end of the third quarter.

The Vikings led by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter before Carpenter emptied his bench.

Matt Ratcliff scored eight of his 13 points in the fourth quarter for Green. Trenton Otworth added 11 points.
