Lady Dragons top Eagles

The Fairland Lady Dragons don’t need track to have a nice finishing kick.

Fairland used a strong fourth quarter to beat the Fairview (Ky.) Lady Eagles 44-38 Monday in a non-league game.

Fairview (8-14) led 7-4 after a slow-scoring first quarter, but Lauren Fulks scored all eight of her points in the second quarter as Fairland went up 18-14 at the half.

The Lady Eagles converted 8-of-12 from the line in the third quarter to tie the game at 26-26.

Brianna Day and Emily McMaster combined for 10 points in the fourth quarter as Fairland outscored Fairview 18-12 to get the win.

McMaster had nine points to lead Fairland (7-9) while Mackenzie Rucker, Day and Fulks all scored eight points.

Fulks and McMaster grabbed nine rebounds each, Lauren Phillips seven, and Rucker and Fuller six each as Fairland pulled down 48 rebounds.

Brandi Mills had 16 points and Alicia Gunter 12 for the Lady Eagles.
