BURLINGTON — A fire that destroyed a single family home on Township Road 1019, in Burlington, has been ruled arson.

“At this time, specific details about the investigation will not be released,” Shane Cartmill, public information officer for the State Fire Marshal, said in an email. “However, all accidental causes have been eliminated and investigators were able to determine the fire intentionally set based on evidence found at the scene.”

The fire was reported by a neighbor at 1:18 a.m. Thursday. There were no injuries reported and no one was home at the time.

A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward sign has been posted at the property. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire. Citizens should call 800-589-2728 with any information.
