Kimmie Bennett and Sarah Mayo combined for 36 points as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers beat their rival Fairland Lady Dragons 67-56 on Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Bennett had 18 points and 11 rebounds while Mayo got 18 points and four assists for the Panthers (10-7, 3-4). Amanda Ruffner added 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

Fairland (6-10, 1-6) got a game-high 21 points from Mackenzie Rucker. Emily McMaster had 11 points and 11 rebounds with Lauren Phillips getting 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Chesapeake took a 14-13 lead in the first quarter behind a balanced offense. Rucker had six points for Fairland.

Mayo scored six points of her own in the second quarter and Chesapeake went to the locker room with a 29-26 lead.

The third quarter proved to be the decisive period of the game as Chesapeake outscored Fairland 17-9. Mayo had seven points including a 3-pointer. Rucker got seven in the quarter for the Lady Dragons.

Each team scored 21 points in the fourth quarter.

Bennett racked up 10 points in the quarter and Ruffner made four foul shots. Philips scored six for Fairland.
