SOUTH POINT — Anna Lee Neal Haynes, 71, of South Point, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Feb.16, 2009, from King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born Oct. 9, 1937, the daughter of the late Lon and Effie Runyan Neal. She is survived by her husband, A. Darwin Haynes, whom she married July 1, 1956.
Mrs. Haynes was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was a former employee for the South Point School System for 17 years and was a member of Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and going to church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Winters, Gladys Vanmeter, and Louise Payne and five brothers: Dan Neal, Carl Neal, Ralph Neal, Paul Neal, and Dick Neal.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Lisa McDaniel Haynes of Ironton; a grandson, Seth W. Haynes of Ironton; a sister, Eva Neal Heaberlin of South Point; a brother, Harvey Neal of London, Ohio; a mother-in-law and friend, Freida Haynes of Ironton and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point with Pastor Kenny Hurst and Billie Haynes officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 51 County Road 7, Ironton.
