The night belonged to the seniors, thanks to the underclassmen.

Juniors Adrianne Blankenship and Lauren Jones combined for 323 points as the Green Lady Bobcats celebrated senior night with a 52-36 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings on Monday.

“We sent Ashlee Runyon and Abbey Barrett off in good style. They’ve meant a lot to our program and the girls really wanted to win for them,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Blankenship scored 13 of her points in the second half and Jones had a big game by making 6-of-9 field goal attempts.

Green (12-8, 9-5) jumped out to a 15-2 lead after the first quarter and built a 24-10 lead at the half.

Gidget Timberman scored four key points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 39-18.

“(Timberman) hit some big shots for us out of the corner for us. We were pleased with that,” said Royse.

Blankenship also had 21 rebounds and four steals. Barrett had six rebounds and four assists, Runyon five assists, and Breanna Johnson six rebounds.

Jessie Morris had a game-high 19 points for Symmes Valley. Haily Pelletier added 10 points.
