LAVENA HANNON

Lavena Hannon, 79, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at her residence.
The Corbin, Ky., native was born July 21, 1929, the daughter of the late James R. and Dorothy Gant Stilton. She is survived by her husband, William “B.J.” Hannon, whom she married May 15, 1952.
Mrs. Hannon was a graduate of Ironton High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ironton and she was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Stilton and Durard Stilton. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey Hannon of Ironton; a grandson, Isaac Hannon and his wife, Noel of South Point; two granddaughters, Ashley Hannon of Huntington, W.Va., and Shay Hannon of New York City, N.Y.; and a great grandchild, Julia Hannon of South Point.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
