TIMOTHY CANIFF

Timothy Michael Caniff, 50, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, following a long illness.
Tim was born Aug. 4, 1958, in Greenup County, Ky., to Phyllis Fields Caniff Davis and the late Mike Rollin Caniff. Tim proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired explosive technician with Mobile Pressure Cleaning. He was a member of American Legion-Elwood Stringer Posts 352, AmVets Post 95 of Greenup and Fraternal Order of Moose Lodge 701 of Ironton.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Pommell Caniff of Ironton; his mother, Phyllis Fields Caniff Davis and his stepfather, Bussey Davis of Flatwoods, Ky.; three sons, Michael Caniff of Las Vegas, Nev., Josh Caniff of Florida and Rayce Caniff of Raceland; two stepsons, Terry Davis and his wife, Sarah, and Jason Lambert, all of Ironton; two brothers, Jeffery Caniff and Brian R. Caniff, both of Flatwoods; two sisters, Cindy Avila and her husband, John, of Nashville, and Suzie Caniff of Russell; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, with Chaplain Jimm Smedley. There will be no visitation. Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood is in charge of arrangements.
