GAHANNA — Alan K. “Porky” Little, 70, of Gahanna, formerly of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at St. Ann’s Hospital, Columbus. He was born July 23, 1938, in Ironton, the son of the late Ebert T. and Margery Dean Burcham Little.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School. He was retired from the Engineering Department of the Ohio Department of Transportation with 29 years of service. He also formerly worked at the C&O Railroad for seven years, was a certified locksmith and a bus driver for Lakefront Bus Co. for six years. He was very active in the Boy Scouts, was a coin collector, Civil War re-enactor and a history buff.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Broce Little, whom he married Jan. 11, 1964; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary C. and Kirk Harger of Johnstown, and Lisa R. and Richard Rinkel of Shepherdsville, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan K. and Emily Little of Blacklick; a half brother and his wife, Donald C. and Patty Little of Canal Winchester; five grandchildren, Jessice and Joshua Rinkel, Robert and Jacob Harger and Jonas Robert Little; also his constant companion, his dog Barney.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
