ASHLAND, Ky. — Sylvia Kay Batson-Boggs, passed away Friday evening, Feb. 27, 2009, after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James E. Boggs; one son and daughter-in-law, J. Todd and Sue Ann Boggs; grandsons, Justin and J. Wyatt Boggs; brother, Allen (Linda) Batson; and sister, Debbie Smith.
Kay was born in Du Quoin, Ill., June 29, 1938, to Jake and Clarice Fike Batson, who preceded her in death.
Our profound thanks to all who expressed their sympathy through cards, flowers and phone calls during her long battle. Our special thanks go to the compassionate care and understanding of the people of Community Hospice of Ashland, Ky.
