PORTSMOUTH — A Portsmouth man arrested in connection with the death of a former Ironton resident last month waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday in Portsmouth Municipal Court.
This case against David Hamilton, 28, will now be presented to a Scioto County grand jury.
Hamilton is accused of stabbing to death Jonathan Jackson, 20, most recently of Wheelersburg but originally from Ironton, Feb. 21 at the Miller Manor Apartments. Hamilton is charged with aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and violation of a protection order. He remains in the Scioto County Jail.
Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Miller Manor Apartments in Wheelersburg just after 1:30 a.m. Feb. 21 by a woman who said there had been a stabbing. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
