LONDON, Ohio — Harvey Elliott Neal, 80, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, in London. He was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Lawrence County, to the late Alonzo and Effie Runyan Neal.
He retired from Buckeye Hills Career Center and attended the Jackson Nazarene Church. He was a previous school board member of Oak Hill Schools and Buckeye Hills.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathryn Bailey Neal of London; sons, Mark (Adrah) Neal of Patriot, and Timothy Neal of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Leah (John) Dorsey of London; grandsons, Mark II and Matthew Neal; granddaughters, Lorie Neal and Lacie (Ryan) Blanchard; a sister, Eva Heaberlin of South Point; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dan, Carl, Ralph, Paul and Richard Neal; and sisters, Dorothy Winters, Gladys Vanmeter, Louise Payne and Anna Lee Haynes.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 202 Maple Ave., Oak Hill. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today by the Portland Lodge 366 in Oak Hill.
