WILLIAM BOURNE

William Frank Bourne, 89, of Ironton, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born March 31, 1919, the son of the late Samuel Beale Bourne and Laura Hale Bourne. He is survived by his wife, Jean Carter Bourne, whom he married July 27, 1947.
Mr. Bourne attended Ironton High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a self-employed contractor, a former Ironton City Manager, Ironton City Council Member, a member of the Kiwanis and a former Grand Marshall of the Ironton Memorial Day Parade. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Bourne, Ray Bourne, and Yolyn Bourne. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kim Bourne of Ironton;
son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sandy Bourne of Ironton; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, James O. Bourne of New Orleans; and a sister-in-law, Pearl Bourne of Columbus.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Soldiers Section of Woodland Cemetery with minister David Peoples officiating. There will be no visitation.
