Sally Lou Stormes, 76, of Ironton, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, Friday, March 13, 2009, from the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born Dec. 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Lou D. and Charlene A. Bryan Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith Roger Stormes.
Mrs. Stormes attended Ironton Schools, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Meredith Roger Stormes II.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, survived by a daughter, Anita L. Smith of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne D. and Kenda Stormes of Ironton; six grandchildren, Joseph Smith, Holly Markins, David Smith, Kyle Stormes, Brody Stormes, and Aaron Stormes and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Lavender officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
