CHARLES CHATFIELD

Charles Edward Chatfield, 82 , of Ironton passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Powellsville, Ohio native was born Sept. 12, 1926, the son of the late Arthur M. and Maye Cook Chatfield. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Kimble Chatfield whom he married Nov. 14, 1986.
Charles attended Pedro Schools and was a retired Army veteran of 22 years.
He also was the owner and operator of the Pennzoil Station on the corner of Sixth Street and Park Avenue.
Mr. Chatfield was a Life Member of the Elks Lodge, the VFW Post 8850 and a member of U.C.T. and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters and brother-in-laws, Gertrude and Curt Arthur and Mary and Wid Delawder; a brother and sisters-in-law, William and Kathryn Chatfield and Arbenia Chatfield; two brothers, Arthur James Chatfield and Ralph David Chatfield; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jenny and Stanley Corbin.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph F. and Ann Chatfield Sr. of Ironton; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Bill Peterson of Hecla; a brother-in-law and wife, Arthur and Patricia Kimble of Loveland, Colo.; a sister-in-law and husband: Linda and Charlie Fisher of Grove City; special friend, Roger Ramey of Hecla; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Orrick officiating.
