Tourney brings $5M to Dayton
DAYTON — The University of Dayton estimates that playing host to the NCAA basketball tournament will pump $5 million into the Dayton-area economy.
Some fans will come to southwest Ohio for Tuesday night’s opening game between Alabama State and Morehead State, then the big flock comes for the four first-round games Friday. Among teams in those games are top-seeded Louisville the eighth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes.
Winners will play Sunday at the UD Arena.
University officials say tickets for the weekend games are sold out.
Meanwhile, the hometown Dayton Flyers will be in Minneapolis, playing West Virginia in a first-round game Friday.
