PROCTORVILLE — Edna M. Henderson, 83, of Proctorville, formerly of Ironton, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va.
She was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Columbus, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jewel Garrin Drake.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Drake; and a sister, Pauline Swartz.
She attended Columbus schools and was a member of the 13th Street Baptist Church in Ashland, Ky. She formerly worked at the Armour Packing Co. in Columbus and was also a hairdresser.
Surviving are her husband, Earl H. Henderson, whom she married Dec. 12, 1945; two daughters and sons-in-law, Earlein and Ronald Meadows, and Lorelei and Danny Holschuh, all of Proctorville; three sisters, Ann Henderson of Ironton, Mary Engel of Frankfort and Sandy Brewer of Clearwater, Fla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Elder Bill Parker and Elder Ronnie Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Slabfork Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Monday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
