PROCTORVILLE — West Virginia Class 3-A power Cabell Midland won the Fairland Early Bird Relays on Saturday in the season’s first meet.

The top two distances or times are compiled to determine a team’s place in an event’s scoring.

Cabell Midland had 101 points followed by South Point with 68 and Fairland was just one point back in third place. River Valley was fourth with 58 followed by Huntington, W.Va., with 43, Riotnon 37, Chesapeake 32, and Wayne, W.Va., 8.

The next local meet is Thursday when Ironton’s girls host their invitational. The Ironton boys invitational will be Saturday.
