SOUTH POINT — Peggy Sue Pennington Southworth, 67, of South Point, born on June 22, 1941, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday April 6, 2009, and joined her husband, Steve Southworth, her parents, Kate Pennington and Berk Pennington Sr along with her brother, Berky Pennington in the Lord’s embrace.
Peggy and Steve were married Dec. 20, 1960.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Joe Grant of Surf City, N.C. and Angela and Tim King of South Point. Peggy was blessed with a flock of grandchildren, Sarrah Grant, Joshua Grant, Tiffanie Bullock, Gabriel Grant, Jacob Grant, Nikki King and Aaron King as well as two great grandchildren, Jordan Joseph Bullock and MacKenna Angeline King.
Peggy is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Gloria Pennington of South Point and her sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Carl Stevens of Coal Grove. She was blessed with beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam Pennington, Mary and Vic Sharp, Debbie and John Stevens; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends including her aunt, Faye McFann of Ironton.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Father John Dixon officiating. She will then be interred at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
