Joyce Ann Dalton, 67, of Ironton, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Anderson, Ind., native was born Jan.18, 1942, the daughter of the late Warren Johnson and Pauline Wylie Arthur. She is survived by her husband, Franklin D. Dalton, whom she married Feb. 26, 1965.
She attended Ironton High School and was a 1960 graduate of Rock Hill High School. She also attended ACC in Ashland, Kentucky. She was a former operating room tech with King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky., Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky., Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., Lawrence County General Hospital in Ironton and Doctors North Hospital in Columbus. She also worked in the labor and delivery and surgery departments at King’s Daughters Medical Center and was a dance instructor for Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Orlando, Florida. She was an avid animal lover and rescued greyhounds. She was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Micah Renae Bays.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Jo and Rick Silva of Henderson, Nev., Terri L. and Keith Reed of Raceland, Ky., and Dana and Melvin Timm of Neenah, Wisc.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Nichole Dalton of Paducah, Ky.; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. There will be no public visitation.
