ASHLAND, Ky. — Jay F. Johnson, 69, of Ashland, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Ironton, a son of the late Clyde and Ruth Ballard Johnson. He was an employee with Marathon, a member of the Ohio and Kentucky National Guard with 24 years of service and the New Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Bluebaum Johnson; a son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Melissa Johnson of Ashland; a sister, Jeanine Pinkerman of South Point; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Lazear Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Gullett. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
