Adena tops Rock Hill

ATHENS — How you start does matter.

The Rock Hill saw the Adena Warriors scored 11 runs in the first inning as they dropped a 16-1 decision Wednesday in the Division III district semifinals.

Adena combined four walks, an error and seven hits to score its 11 first inning runs.

The Warriors added single runs in the second and third innings and three more in the fourth.

Rock Hill (10-6) got its run in the fifth inning with one out.

Devin Darby singled, moved to second base on David Turley’s ground out and scored on a double by Shane Russell.

Buddy Barnes allowed just two hits to get the win for Adena. He struck out five and walked four.
