MIAMI (AP) — An Ohio State football recruit is facing a drug charge in Florida.

According to Miami-Dade Police, Jaamal Berry of Miami was arrested on a charge with possession of more than 28 grams of marijuana.

According to the report, Berry told police he had bought the drugs an hour earlier and planned to smoke them with friends.

Berry was released from jail Thursday on $5,000 bond. Jail records did not show any attorney information. His next court hearing is July 2.

Ohio State football spokeswoman Shelly Poe said Friday coaches were reviewing Berry’s arrest and there had been no change in his status.
