So here we are, another day at the Lawrence County Historical Museum.

Today, let’s check out what is in our store although really, what the museum has to offer is scattered about many rooms in the museum.

The pottery is in the solarium, bell pulls are in a drawer in the hall and books are in the glass case under the stairway. You can find historical books there, including Lawrence County History I (1990) and II (2008), Glorious Past and Letters to Eliza (letters from the Civil War). Also in the solarium, there are post cards for sale.

Also, there is additional information at the top of the stairway.

One of the books we have is Iron Furnaces of Lawrence County. It was compiled by Lori Shaffer, daughter of Ruth and Darrell Shaffer.

She is a graduate of Ironton High School, attended Ohio University Southern and earned a degree in library science. She is employed at Briggs Library’s adult services.

She has been invited to teach a genealogy class in Riley, W.Va., in July.

She is in the process of writing a book on ghosts. If you have any information you would like to share with her call her at the library, 532-1124. It will be available for purchase later on.

We are fortunate to have life dollars made by the late Dollie Elaison, who donated them to the museum.

Don’t forget the presentation on perfect flower beds that will be given by the Ironton Flower Club June 27 and the museum.
