Proctorville to host Chamber luncheon

PROCTORVILLE — Ohio University Southern-Proctorville Center will be the site of the monthly 4th Friday Luncheon of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

Guest speaker will be Michele Craig, director of KYOVA, Interstate Planning Commission.

She will talk about the Tri-State effort to improve transportation; updates on KYOVA projects and some of the agency’s success stories. There will also be a video profile on the Tri-State Airport. The luncheon begins at noon Friday.

Goodwill to hold weeklong sale

CHESAPEAKE — Goodwill Industries is offering a weeklong patriotic sale of its clothing and household items. Starting Sunday, June 28 through Friday, July 3, there will be daily half-price sales on specially marked items.

Sunday will be any item marked with stars; Monday items with stripes; Tuesday items marked red; Wednesday items marked white; Thursday items marked blue; and Friday items marked with a flag.

First Baptist to honor Veterans

PROCTORVILLE — It will be Patriotic Sunday at First Baptist Church of Proctorville.

At its regular service VFW Post 6878 of Proctorville and the Ladies Auxiliary will be special guests as the church’s adult choir presents an arrangement of patriotic music.

Following the church service there will be a flag ceremony outside the flag pole. Everyone is welcome.

Fish fry, car wash scheduled

PROCTORVILLE — There will be a fund-raising car wash and fish fry Saturday at First Baptist Church of Proctorville.

The car wash starts at 2 p.m. and the fish fry begins at 6 p.m. The menu for the dinner will be fresh fish, French fries, hush puppies, wild turkey and hot dogs.

Entertainment will be by John Early, Lorie Bane and New Victory Quartet. Proceeds from both events will go toward the church’s youth building project.
