SOUTH POINT — Charles Kenneth Waddell Jr., 75, of South Point, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Junior Furnace Cemetery, Franklin Furnace. He was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Franklin Furnace, a son of the late Charles K. Waddell Sr. and Laura Thelma Marshall Waddell. Preceding him in death was a brother, Donald E. Waddell. He is survived by his wife, Clara Waddell; two sons, Randy Waddell and Larry Waddell; one daughter, Clara Lee Burton; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Kaye Waddell; and one brother, William Waddell. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Navy on the battleship, USS Wisconsin, a retired millwright with local 1519 of South Point and a member of Warren Lodge #24F&AM.
