FLORENCE, S.C.— Richard A. “Rick” Brown Jr., of Florence, formerly of Columbus, went home to be with The Lord Thursday, June 18, 2009.
He was born July 23, 1957 in Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Adrien Brown Sr., his paternal grandparents, George and Mary Brown, and his maternal grandparents, Smith and Kathryn Young.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Willis and his stepfather, Edward Willis, of Ironton; a daughter, Kala Brianne Brown of Greensboro, S.C.; a brother, Ronnie Brown of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Debbie Southers of Ironton, five stepbrothers; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rick was a 1975 graduate of New Albany High School and was a 1981 graduate of Ohio State University College of Business with a degree in finance. He was an account executive with Corman Bag, Inc. of Boston. Rick was gifted in writing poetry and earlier this year accepted Christ as his personal savior.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Zoar Baptist Church with Pastor James Beals officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Zoar Baptist Church, Coal Grove, Ohio 45638.
