ILL football tryouts

Tryouts and final registration for the Ironton Youth Football League will be held at noon on Saturday at the Ironton Little League field.

Fee is $20 per player and $5 for any additional sibling in grades 2-6. There is a $10 fee for grades K-1 playing flag football.

Ironton grid fitness

Any male student in grades 10-12 planning to play football at Ironton High School should meet at 7 a.m. Thursday at the Ironton Sports Center for physical fitness.

SJ-SL golf scramble

The Ironton Catholic Schools annual golf scramble will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at Diamondlinks Golf Course in Catlettsburg, Ky.

Entry fee is $200 per team or $50 per golfer and covers lunch, green fees and cart fees. Cash prizes will be awarded.

IHS frosh meeting

Any boys planning to play freshmen football for the Ironton Fighting Tigers is asked to meet at 9 p.m. on Monday in the bleachers at Tanks Memorial Stadium.

Rock Hill physicals

Rock Hill High School and Middles School athletic physicals will be offered Tuesday, July 28, at the high school.

Forms will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the high school office starting on Tuesday. Necessary information should be completed and forms must be signed by a parent or guardian.

This is the only time free physicals will be offered. Here is the schedule:

5:30 p.m. high school girls grades 9-12; 6:15 p.m. high school boys grades 9-12; 7 p.m. girls in grades 7-8; 7:45 boys in grades 7-8.

CGLL registrations

The Coal Grove Little League Football will conduct registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the practice field.

IAYSA registrations

The Ironton Area Youth Soccer Association will conduct registrations from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

Registration is for youths ages 4-14 between the dates Aug. 1 1995 to July 31, 2005. Youths will be divided in groups of U-6 through U-14.

Fee is $20 each and $15 for each additional sibling. There is a $5 late fee for each player for registrations after Aug. 1.

Ironton VB camp

The Ironton Lady Tigers’ volleyball camp for grades 3-9 as of this fall will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday and Tuesday, July 27-28, at the Ironton High School Sports Center.

Fee is $15. Checks should be made payable to the Tiger Clan. Applications are available from any member of the high school volleyball team or at Bob Linn Sporting Goods.

Each camper receives a T-shirt at the end of the clinic along with an awards’ presentation.

Camp directors are coaches Beth Campbell, Missy Fields and Kevin Richardson.

St. Joe soccer clinic

St. Joseph High School will conduct a youth soccer clinic from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, July 27-28, at the Ironton area soccer fields.

Registrations formsare available at Bob Linn Sporting Goods or the St. Joseph High School principal’s office.

Rio golf, raffle set

The University of Rio Grande men’s and women’s basketball programs will hold their annual 300 Club Golf Outing Saturday, Aug. 1, at Franklin Valley Golf Course in Jackson with the dinner and raffle at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Newt Oliver Arena.

Donation for the 300 Club raffle is $100 with a grand prize of $10,000. Proceeds benefit the basketball programs.
