VICKI CASTLE

FLATWOODS — Vicki Lynn Wiley Castle, 54, of Flatwoods, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Castle was born Sept. 11, 1954 in Ironton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Russell High School, attended Ashland Community College and graduated from Ohio University. She was named Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. She was a member of the Flatwoods Women’s Club, serving as the youngest president of that organization. She was also a member of the Flatwoods American Legion Auxiliary Elwood Stringer Post and was employed as a substitute teacher in the Dawson-Bryant School District.
Mrs. Castle was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Eloise Wiley; a sister, Saundra Kay Wiley; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Castle and her son, Norman Douglas Castle.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Castle; a son, Bryan Castle, of Flatwoods; a sister, Norma Wiley Barker and her husband, David, of Crescent City, Fla.; an uncle, James A. Smith and cousins, Bo and Barbara Smith of Russell; her in-laws, Ray and Anita Castle, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Debbie Castle, Terry Castle, Kevin Castle and Raynita and Tim Mullens; three nieces, seven nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews and special companions Harley and Footlong.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with the Revs. Bill Dillon and Terry Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
