SOUTH POINT — John F. Sites, 81, of South Point, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009.
He was born on March 3, 1928 in Coal Grove, the son of the late Pleas and Alma Hammond Sites. He was a retired school bus driver for South Point Schools and was also retired from Semet Solvay in Ironton. John was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of South Point.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary Sites; his daughter, Rebecca Leighty; two brothers, James and Charles Sites and sister, Marcella Grgich.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John Frederick and Mary Sites II of Patriot, Ohio and Paul James and Mae Sites of South Point; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charla Jean and Fred Hardy of Chesapeake, and Kimberly Ann and Rick Kinney of South Point; a brother, Tom Sites of Ironton; two sisters, Avanelle Baker of Carroll and Hilda Genco of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
